Blue & White Society helps in the fight

against childhood cancer in
THON.

Our THON family:
The Grindles

They live in York, Pennsylvania. Sean is 9 and his brother, Adam, is 14. Their parents, Melissa and Zane, are both Penn State alumni and were involved in THON during their time here! They are both teachers. In their free time, the Grindles enjoy hiking, biking, and camping!

Sean was diagnosed with leukemia in July of 2021 and rang the bell in November of 2023. Sean has been in remission since!

Our THON Family Update:

In September, the Grindle family joined us for an afternoon of fun with lawn games and ice cream before the THON football game. Our organization traveled to York, PA in October to visit the Grindles. We cheered on Sean and his soccer team and celebrated at Chick-fil-A! So far this semester we hosted a bracelet sale, a BWS and Lion Ambassadors Capture the Flag fundraiser, and a bingo night! THON’s largest fundraising campaign, Dream Forward, ran from October 26th to November 12th with a goal of raising $1,250,000 to support children and families impacted by childhood cancer. After the conclusion of Dream Forward, Blue & White Society THON 2026's grand total is approaching $6,000! In the next few months, we are looking forward to dancer selection, Family Carnival, and continuing THON Committee meetings. Your generosity powers every milestone, every event, and every moment of hope for the families we serve.
